Theft
Unfortunately, theft is a fact of life,
and largely unavoidable. But what compounds the problem is
that it is easy for the insured to falsify the loss, and can
be hard to disprove.
As an insuring company, you want to
pay only the true amount of the loss. We understand this,
and this is where we can really help.
Many insureds will replace stolen equipment
and then call their insurance company. ICC then determines
whether the replacement equipment was comparable to the original
-- or are they trying to get you to pay for a Cadillac when
they lost a Ford?
We have found that 90% of the time,
the insured will replace with something of higher quality,
such as replacing a 486 computer with a Pentium, or adding
extra features, such as a CD-ROM drive.
While some of this "upgrading"
can't be prevented, most of it can, and that's where we come
in. We can tell you if the insured bought "Like Kind
and Quality" (LKQ), and what the true replacement equipment
should have cost. Because we are in close contact with current
prices, we can give you fair and accurate information on your
true liability.
This can translate into huge savings in
time and money for you!
